Amiga 500 Game play and development

Amiga~Amiga500_280px-Amiga500_system.jpgAfter dusting off the good old Amiga 500 (with 512 kb memory!! you get a whopping 1024 KB internal memory) we were finally able to see and enjoy the stuff we and others made 20 years ago!!

It is still amazing how well an Amiga performs.

Keep in mind that when we played and created the games below, we were children age 12-17 .

Amiga Emulator

If you do not own an Amiga and want to play oldscool games on one of the first really good gaming consoles, then you can download an Amiga Emulator.

A good emulator: http://www.winuae.net/
You will also need to find the Amiga Kickstart Roms e.g. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Amiga+Kickstart+Roms+-+Complete+-+TOSEC+v0.04&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=

The emulator uses *.adf files which are the disk files or Roms http://www.rom-world.com/dl.php?name=Amiga

To copy your Amiga disk to your PC, you need the following:
disk driver which can read Amiga Disks on your PC: http://simonowen.com/fdrawcmd/
A copy tool: adfread 1.1 - Amiga Disk Reader can be found in the download section of: http://www.winuae.net/

In the setup mentioned above, you need a windows pc with 2 working diskdrives... you know. that little slot where you can shuff a 1.44 disk in.

To be honest, setting up the pc was quite a hassle :-( but worth it! we now preserved our precious games!
